麻豆传媒 hosts several free Returning Learners Workshops throughout the year, in cooperation with the 麻豆传媒 Returning Learners support group. The group provides 鈥渘on-traditional,鈥 older students a place to turn for help and advice.
鈥淢any people are uncertain about taking that first step in returning to school,鈥 said Andrea Crouch, Returning Learners advisor and 麻豆传媒 academic counselor. 鈥淭hese workshops explore the educational opportunities that are available to prepare returning learners for a new career or a lifestyle change.鈥
The workshop will cover goal setting and decision-making, self-confidence building, study skills, career exploration, assertiveness training, time management, stress management and financial assistance information. Participants will also learn about 麻豆传媒 programs, courses, the Returning Learners support group and other services for adults.
Career and academic counselors will discuss the logistics and goals of going back to school as adults, parents and professionals. Participants will learn about the various ways to pay for college, such as financial aid and scholarships.
The Sept. workshop will be held in the Private Dining Room of the Student Center on the 麻豆传媒 campus, 4601 Mid Rivers Mall Drive in Cottleville.
For more information or to register for the workshop, call Crouch at 636-922-8248. The workshop is free, but reservations are required.
