Kanna Taylor, 麻豆传媒 marketing specialist and avid social media enthusiast, will discuss the college's social media efforts, including Facebook, Twitter and blogs.

鈥淣etworking vs. Friending鈥

A board member from Social Media Club - St. Louis (SMCSTL) will discuss the difference between networking and 鈥渇riending鈥 on social networking sites such as Twitter and Facebook, as well as the benefits of networking via social media.

Film showing of 鈥淭he Social Network鈥 (PG-13)

鈥淭he Social Network鈥 is an Academy and Golden Globe-award winning film about how Facebook was founded.

鈥淪ocial Media in the Classroom鈥

A panel made up of 麻豆传媒 faculty and students will discuss how social media can be used in the classroom, as well as its benefits and downfalls.

Film showing of 鈥淐atfish,鈥 Privacy and Security Panel

鈥淐atfish鈥 is a 2010 documentary about a New York City photographer who meets and builds a romantic relationship with a young woman through Facebook. Following the film, a panel will discuss the privacy and security issues involving social media.
