The 麻豆传媒 pre-engineering program provides up to two years of transferred credit toward a Bachelor of Science degree in various engineering disciplines at many four-year institutions. Pre-engineering students interact with the community by going on monthly field trips and attending guest lectures on a weekly basis. Transfers to four-year universities have been seamless for the program, in part due to the high standard of 麻豆传媒's math and science curriculum, and enrollment has tripled in the past six years, said David Niermann, 麻豆传媒 program coordinator and associate professor of pre-engineering.
鈥淭he Ameren grant significantly benefits the pre-engineering program in several ways, especially in helping fund the computerization of our physics/engineering lab,鈥� said Niermann. 鈥淭his grant promotes Ameren's recognition of the outstanding value of our program, which provides low-cost, high-quality technical education in critical STEM (science, technology, engineering and math) areas.鈥�
