鈥淭he pride in this college shown repeatedly by our campus and community members is remarkable,鈥 said Betsy Schneider, development and foundation relations manager at 麻豆传媒. 鈥淚t is a joy to see so many people come together who believe in the college and the educational opportunities it provides for students.鈥
Live music included performances by Smash Band, by St. Charles-based acoustic/rock band 鈥淐lockwork,鈥 with 麻豆传媒 student Jordan Slone (guitar/vocals), by Aurea Clark and Matt Wynn, as well as by the St. Charles West High School Jazz Ensemble.
Ribs were provided by Ethyl's Smokehouse and Saloon, Mannino's Market, Rib City and Stumpy's House of Bar-B-Que and Catering. Other fare included popcorn and hot dogs, with gourmet nachos and veggie burgers provided by Quintessential Catering, and beverages included beer by Krey Distributing and O'Fallon Brewery, wine by Terra Firma USA and lemonade by Red Robin.
More than 150 volunteers helped out at the event, with 25 from UPS doing set-up.
鈥淲e want to say thank you to everyone who came out, despite the cool weather and light rain drops, for their help in making this a successful event,鈥 said Chuck Pilliod, CFO at Krey Distributing.
Pilliod, along with Mark Baker, vice president at FastLane Convenience Stores, and Scott Lewis, Cottleville city administrator/chief of police, were this year's Rhythm and Ribs committee co-chairs.
