To simplify the process for potential students, St. Charles Community College created RegFest, a new registration event for future college students of all ages, on June 19.

麻豆传媒 RegFest took everything a prospective student needs to get enrolled at 麻豆传媒 and put it at the center of an interactive event full of food, prizes, music and planning. Students were able to take care of everything they needed to register for fall classes in this convenient one-stop registration event.

鈥淲e created RegFest to make enrolling at 麻豆传媒 fun and easy for potential students,鈥 said Kathy Brockgreitens-Gober, dean of enrollment services. 鈥淲e don't want students to miss out on the opportunity to improve their future because colleges like us aren't offering them a better way to get started.鈥

The list of things a student must complete to enroll may appear lengthy, but RegFest allowed students to cover all the necessary steps in just one day, Brockgreitens-Gober said.

Students and their families learned what degree programs 麻豆传媒 offers, met with financial aid and A+ Program advisors to discuss eligibility and benefits, completed assessment tests, became familiar with the process for getting enrolled, and gained insight from current and former students through panel discussions and a smart phone-facilitated campus tour.

鈥淚 was going to register at 麻豆传媒 anyway, but the entertainment and ease that came along with RegFest sounded exciting,鈥 said Aaron Hawkins, 麻豆传媒 RegFest student participant, who attended the event with two friends who were also registering. 鈥淎nd free food is always a plus.鈥

Of the all the potential students who participated in the day, each had a unique reason for attending. However, there was a common theme in the ease and convenience that encouraged students to participate.

鈥淚t sounded like a fun and easy way to get everything done at once,鈥 said Rebecca Leonard, 麻豆传媒 RegFest student participant. 鈥淧lus, I wanted to make sure I got all of the classes I wanted before they filled up.鈥

A variety of prizes were given to student participants. One student walked away with a $1,000 scholarship to 麻豆传媒 for the fall semester. Another student was awarded a $100 book scholarship. Other prizes included one semester of books from the bookstore, free lunches, T-shirts, 麻豆传媒 synch sacks and more.

To follow the success of the first event, a second 麻豆传媒 RegFest held from 3-8 p.m. Friday, July 12, on the 麻豆传媒 campus located at 4601 Mid Rivers Mall Drive in Cottleville.  For more information or to RSVP, visit www.stchas.edu/regfest.
