麻豆传媒 nursing students will kick off the series of events with a presentation on aspects of alcohol abuse at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 30.
The film 鈥淭he Anonymous People鈥� will be shown at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 30. 鈥淭he Anonymous People鈥� is an independent feature documentary about the more than 23 million Americans living in long-term recovery from alcohol and other drug addictions. Attendees must RSVP at to reserve a seat.
Tiffany Eis, keynote speaker, will present 鈥淲hat Drugs Did to Me鈥� at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 1. Eis had a near death experience because of drugs. She had two strokes, both legs amputated below the knees and an aortic heart valve replacement on her 30th birthday. She hopes to influence others to get out and stay out of the world of addictive behaviors.
鈥淎lcohol and drug abuse impact all of us, whether it's a family member or friend; educating our loved ones is critical,鈥� said Kelley Pfeiffer, student activities manager. 鈥淭hese events will provide a variety of opportunities for education and will offer great resources for people who need them.鈥�
